First Winner for Caleb's Posse at Gulfstream

I Shod the Sheriff wins race 3 at Gulfstream Park April 28.

Three Chimneys Farm's freshman sire Caleb's Posse got his first winner with his first starter April 28 at Gulfstream Park when I Shod the Sheriff won a 4 1/2 furlong maiden special weight gate to wire by 3 1/2 lengths. The final time was :52.17.

The colt, bred in Kentucky by Glenmalure Farm, is owned by PTK LLC and trained by Dane Kobiskie. He is the seventh foal out of the Wavering Monarch mare Despot, who had previously produced four winners from five named foals of racing age.

I Shod the Sheriff was purchased by Tom Haughey for PTK for $10,000 out of the 2015 Keeneland September sale.

Caleb's Posse is a multiple grade I stakes winner, having won the Foxwoods King's Bishop Stakes and the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile in 2011. That year he also won the grade II Amsterdam Stakes and the grade III Ohio Derby. He retired with eight wins and seven placed finishes in 19 starts and total earnings of $1,423,379. Caleb's Posse stands at Three Chimneys for $5,000.
