After posting an upset victory in this year's Rampart Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park, Gamay Noir will try to secure her second grade III win of the season when she faces an expected field of seven other fillies and mares in the $150,000 Obeah Stakes June 14 at Delaware Park.
Chasing Tail Stables' Gamay Noir won the Rampart at odds of 49-1 March 29 and enters Saturday's 1 1/8-mile race off a third-place finish in the Sixty Sails Handicap (gr. III) April 19 at Hawthorne Race Course.
The entry of Gamay Noir and Southern California stakes winner Golden Production was installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite in the local prep race for the Delaware Handicap (gr. I) set for July 12 at Delaware.
Gamay Noir is trained by Marty Wolfson, who saddled Miss Singsix to victory in the 2010 edition of the Obeah. The Irish-bred daughter of Singspiel then ran second to Life At Ten in the Delaware Handicap.
The top two finishers from Winter Melody Stakes May 21 at Delaware, winner Montana Native and runner-up Blue Violet, are entered in the Obeah.
