Jenny Bowman has been promoted to racing secretary at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, the track announced May 17.
Bowman, a member of the racing office since 2007, fills the role left vacant by the retirement of David Bailey. She joins Georganne Hale and Alison De Luca as one of the few women to occupy the vital position at a North American racetrack.
Bowman has served in numerous roles in the racing operation, including outrider, horsemen's bookkeeper, paddock judge, placing judge, and horse identifier. Most recently she served as Bailey's assistant race secretary since late 2012.
"We are excited and proud to promote someone from within the racing operation. Jenny's hard work and dedication make her a valuable asset" said Eric Johnston, Penn National director of racing operations. "Jenny has earned the respect and support of our horsemen and will work closely with the group as we continue to grow and improve the racing product."
