Trainer Cliff Sise confirmed May 18 that Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) pacesetter Danzing Candy has been transferred to the barn of Bob Baffert.

According to Sise, who trained the Twirling Candy   colt to a victory in the San Felipe (gr. II) before a fourth-place run in the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) and a 15th-place finish in the Kentucky Derby, the move was made "a couple days after we got back from Kentucky."

Baffert said he would "know more next week" about potential plans with the highly regarded colt.

Sise said he wasn't given a specific reason why Danzing Candy was moved to Baffert, but indicated it was a decision made entirely by the colt's ownership—breeder Halo Farms, along with Jim and Dianne Bashor.

"(The Bashors) were a little green. They listened to too many people," Sise said. "When you have a good horse, everybody has an opinion. I didn't want to run in the Derby. I wanted to keep him fresh and run in the Preakness (gr. I).

"It's part of the business, but I didn't want to lose the horse. I thought he had a big future running on the turf at Del Mar over the summer."
