Paulassilverlining will start from the rail in Vagrancy

With Paulassilverling's recent Distaff Handicap (gr. III) win over Cavorting flattered by the latter returning to win the Ruffian Stakes (gr. II) May 14 at Belmont Park, she will be favored to register a second straight stakes score in the $150,000 Vagrancy Handicap (gr. III) May 21 at Belmont.

Vincent Scuderi homebred Paulassilverlining will start from the rail and carry high weight of 120 pounds in the expected field of five fillies and mares going 6 1/2 furlongs Saturday on the Belmont main track.

A Kentucky-bred 4-year-old Ghostzapper   filly, Paulassilverlining opened the season with a win in a February allowance-optional claiming race at Aqueduct. She followed that with a runner-up finish in the six-furlong Correction Stakes on the same track before her 3 3/4-length win over Cavorting in the Distaff. Cavorting was making her first start of the year in the Distaff.

Paulassilverlining, who at 2 won the Matron Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont, is trained by Michelle Nevin. Jose Ortiz will have the mount Saturday.

"She's her same old self," Nevin said. "She's doing good and we're happy with her. She's just a little older, little more mature now. She had a nice little layoff and came back step by step and gotten herself together. She's been on her game lately."
