The New York Racing Association May 22 listed seven 3-year-olds, including the top three finishers in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), as pointing toward the June 11 Belmont Stakes (gr. I).
Exaggerator, Cherry Wine, and Nyquist, who finished one-two-three in the May 21 Preakness at Pimlico Race Course, are expected for the $1.5 million Belmont, as is fifth-place finisher Lani.

The other three on the list last raced in the May 7 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I): Suddenbreakingnews (fifth), Destin (sixth), and Brody's Cause (seventh).
The Belmont Stakes program will offer six other grade I events, three of which will carry purses of $1 million or more: the Metropolitan Handicap, Ogden Phipps Stakes, and Woodford Reserve Manhattan Stakes.
