Description:

After finishing off the board in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), grade I winner We Miss Artie will prepare for a run in the Canadian classics when the son of Artie Schiller   starts in the $150,000 Plate Trial Stakes June 14 at Woodbine.

Seven Canadian-foaled 3-year-olds are entered in the Plate, which precedes the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks , presetned by Budweiser on the Saturday program. The Plate Trial is race 9 on the program with a 5:10 p.m. EDT scheduled post.

While We Miss Artie finished 10th in the Kentucky Derby on the Churchill Downs dirt, his two biggest victories have come on Polytrack, which is the main track at Woodbine. Last year We Miss Artie scored a clear victory in the Dixiana Breeders' Futurity (gr. I) at Keeneland and this year, in his start before the Derby, We Miss Artie rallied late to win the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati Spiral Stakes (gr. III) at Turfway Park.

The two graded stakes wins for Ken and Sarah Ramsey's We Miss Artie are his only starts on Polytrack going into Saturday's 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-olds foaled in Canada.

We Miss Artie was bred in Ontario by Richard Lister. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the dark bay/brown colt has won three of nine starts, with two other placings, and has earned $609,000.

There are no other stakes winners in the field, which includes two maidens and two other starters with only maiden-race victories.
