Millennium Farms announced May 26 that longtime farm manager Bobby Miller has been named its vice chairman. Assistant farm manager Jose Rodarte will take on the role of farm manager.
Miller earned a degree in agriculture from the University of Kentucky and has 40 years of equine experience, including the past 10 years as Millennium's farm manager. Prior to joining the Millennium team, Miller spent 18 years in a similar role at Walmac International.
"Bobby is one of the most respected horsemen in our industry. He has been the architect of the strong foundation of horsemanship and bloodstock management that our customers have come to expect and appreciate," said Millennium Farms owner Ro Parra. "He has been such an integral part of our operation that I can't imagine not being able to lean on Bobby for advice, counsel, and direction going forward."
Rodarte is a 14-year veteran of Millennium Farms. He has hands-on experience in all facets of the Thoroughbred industry, from handling stallions at Walmac International to working with broodmares and foals at Highclere Farm. Jose also has experience in the breaking and training sector of the business.
"I have worked with Jose for over 20 years and it has been a pleasure watching him grow personally and professionally. He is an excellent horseman, has top notch ethical standards, and has earned the respect of employees and customers," Miller said.
"I decided to make the transition now because I am 100% confident that Jose will make an outstanding farm manager," added Miller. "I look forward to the next stage of my career. I plan to continue to live at the farm and be readily available for Jose, J Ted, Ro, and our customers."
