The Breeders' Cup has announced the launch of a new multi-faceted sweepstakes with Bobby Flay, Elizabeth Banks, Carson Kressley, Bob Baffert, and Victor Espinoza, five of its most high-profile celebrity ambassadors. The sweepstakes, titled Racing with Stars VIP Sweepstakes presented by America's Best Racing, is open now through Oct. 9. More information about the experiences and how to enter can be found at the Breeders' Cup VIP website.
The new initiative was developed to add to the excitement of the 2016 Breeders' Cup Challenge Series, which is made up of 78 "Win and You're In" races that take place in 12 countries around the world and guarantee the winning horses a starting spot in the 2016 Breeders' Cup World Championships, according to a release.
The television and social-media driven sweepstakes will be centered around Breeders' Cup's nine telecasts on NBC Sports and will offer participants the chance to win one of four experiences hosted by the celebrity ambassadors at this year's World Championships.
The four prizes are a racing experience with Bob Baffert, a culinary experience with Bobby Flay, a fashion experience with Carson Kressley, and a celebrity experience with Elizabeth Banks.
Each experience begins with a VIP trip for two to the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita Park, including airfare, hotel, and VIP hospitality.
The racing experience will provide meet-and-greets with racing personalities, including Bob Baffert and Victor Espinoza, a private backside tour to see the top contenders in the Breeders' Cup, and the opportunity to watch the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) from the winner's circle.
The culinary experience includes two tickets to the A Taste of the World culinary event on Nov. 3, hosted by Bobby Flay, dinner for two at one of his favorite restaurants, and the opportunity to watch a race with the famed chef.
The celebrity experience also will offer two tickets to A Taste of the World and a walk along the VIP purple carpet alongside celebrities, followed by the opportunity to mingle with them in the exclusive Trophy Lounge, as well as a private tour of Warner Bros. and Universal Studios.
The fashion experience provides the winner a $1,000 shopping spree and a custom-designed fascinator/fedora from Breeders' Cup official milliner Christine Moore, and a spot as a judge in the Longines Prize of Elegance Fashion Contest on Breeders' Cup Saturday at Santa Anita.
"Over the past several years, the Breeders' Cup has established itself as not only a premier sporting event, but also as one of the world's most prestigious lifestyle and entertainment events, and the new celebrity sweepstakes reaffirms our commitment to this vision," said Breeders' Cup president and CEO Craig Fravel. "We are excited to provide yet another way for our fans to engage with the sport throughout the summer leading up to the Breeders' Cup, and to celebrate with the winners in the fall at Santa Anita. We especially thank our ambassadors for their continued support and for helping to promote our great sport to a broader audience."
Fans may only enter to win one of the four experiences. During the sweepstakes, fans can earn points by engaging with and sharing specific Breeders' Cup related content. For every 100 points earned, fans receive an extra entry in the sweepstakes. Points are awarded for a variety of activities, such as liking Breeders' Cup on social media, retweeting certain official Breeders' Cup tweets or watching the Breeders' Cup Challenge telecasts on NBC Sports and following the unique Sweepstakes calls-to-action that will be presented during each show.
The 2016 Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at Santa Anita Park in California.
