The penultimate under tack session June 9 for next week’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s 2-year-olds in training sale once again resulted in a handful of juveniles sharing the day’s fastest times for both the eighth-mile and quarter-mile breezes.

After five days of workouts, the fastest eighth-mile time so far is the :09 4/5 dash turned in by a Gemologist   colt on the under tack show’s second day June 7, with the best quarter-mile time of :20 4/5 coming from an Into Mischief   colt during the first session June 6.

The seven juveniles sharing the one furlong bullet time of :10 included two from the Bobby Dodd consignment. Hip 840 is a Hard Spun   filly produced from stakes-winner Shedoesrock, also the dam of multiple stakes winner and grade II-placed Amaranth. The other Dodd-consigned fast worker was Hip 845, a Biondetti   colt named Awesome Buddy who is out of a winning half sister to grade I winner D’Wildcat.

The other :10 eighth-mile workers Thursday were Hip 822, High Cotton  —Send for an Angel filly (Craig Wheeler, agent), from the family of grade I winner Very Subtle; Hip 914, Wildcat Heir—Stifled filly (Southern Cypress Stable, agent) whose second dam won six stakes; Hip 946, Tiz a Sweetie, a Tizway  —Sweetheart Legacy filly (Woodside Ranch, agent), family of grade II winner Bolshoi Boy; Hip 952, Alanite, a colt by Aikenite  —Switcheroo (Crupi’s New Castle Farm, agent), family of grade II winners I Spent It and Zavata; and Hip 999, a Niagara Causeway  —Trench Cat colt (McKathan Bros., agent), family of grade II winners Something Extra and Nicole H.

Sharing the fastest quarter-mile breeze time of :21 1/5 were two 2-year-olds from the Thoroughbred Champions Training Center consignment. They were Hip 925, a Harlan's Holiday—Stunning Image colt, and Hip 940, an Uncle Mo—Surrender colt. The Harlan’s Holiday colt is out of a half sister to the dam of Australian multiple group III winner Gamble Me and from the family of grade I winners Seeking the Gold and Fast Play, among other graded winners. The Uncle Mo colt is from the strong Rokeby Stable family that includes Mackie, Sea Hero, and Hero’s Honor.

Also breezing a quarter in :21 1/5 were Hip 916, Pappagalo, an Overdriven   colt out of stakes winner Storm Flag (New Hope), and Hip 926, a City Zip colt out of grade III-placed Successful Sarah (Stephens Thoroughbreds).

The under tack show concludes June 10 with a 7:30 a.m. EDT session; the sale will be held June 14-17, with sessions starting at 10:30 a.m. daily.
