Half brothers finished one-two in the $75,000 Sydney Gendelman Memorial Handicap for Ohio-breds June 11 at Belterra Park Gaming.
The winner, Loooch Racing Stable's Dubacious, got the lead soon after the start and never looked back to finish 1 1/4 lengths in front of Silver Tongued. Both geldings are out of the More Than Ready mare Whitelacenpromises and both were bred by James A. Fraser and Jane N. Fraser in Ohio.
Dubacious, a 5-year-old by E Dubai, won the 1 1/4-mile Best of Ohio Endurance on dirt last fall and has $274,193 in earnings from 17 starts. In the Gendelman, he was ridden by Jacob Radosevich for his uncle, trainer Jeff Radosevich. The final time for 1 1/16 miles on a turf course rated yielding was 1:43.34.
Silver Tongued, owned by Greenhill Racing Stables and trained by Jeff Greenhill, is a 6-year-old by Flatter . Silver Tongued, a three-time Ohio stakes winner, has earned $296,582 in 38 starts.
Greenhill also trains Gendelman third-place finisher Shakeyogroovething, an 11-year-old gelding by Dance Brightly.
Dubacious was a $30,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall yearling sale purchase in 2012, while Silver Tongued brought $17,000 at the same auction in 2011.
