ARCI Town Hall Meeting Set for Belmont Park

The Association of Racing Commissioners International has scheduled another in its series of town hall meetings for June 17 at Belmont Park in New York.
The meeting, designed to solicit input from industry stakeholders on options for a centralized rule-making entity for horse racing, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. (EDT) in the Belmont Room. The following day a similar meeting for Standardbred stakeholders will be held at Meadowlands in northern New Jersey at 1 p.m. in The Gallery.
ARCI the week of June 6 held a town hall meeting at Arapahoe Park in Colorado. Organization president Ed Martin said a cross-section of owners, trainers, breeders, track management, veterinarians, and regulators participated and discussed the image of horse racing and the need to differentiate between therapeutic medication overages and actual instances of doping.
The town hall meetings, which are being held throughout the year, are free to attend but registration is required. More information is available at the ARCI website.
Martin said input received at the meetings and through an online survey will be presented to major racing industry leaders as part of an attempt by ARCI to unify the industry in a common path to ensure a strong and effective integrity effort for racing.
