Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert sent American Cleopatra—the 2-year-old full sister to Triple Crown champion American Pharoah —through her first official breeze at Santa Anita Park June 17.
The Pioneerof the Nile filly got three furlongs in :35 3/5 when working on the outside in company under exercise rider Dana Barnes.
"She's pretty quick," Baffert said. "She's got a nice stride and she's not as big as Pharoah, not as tall. She's made a little bit differently, but she's strong."
American Cleopatra shipped to Baffert's California barns from McKathan Brothers Training Center in Florida at the beginning of June.

"She has a ways to go; she's got some baby fat on her," Baffert said. "But those guys do a great job of getting them ready. They know how to behave themselves."
Baffert said he was pleased with what he saw in this first morning move from the Zayat Stables homebred.
"I think she's got a lot of speed, which is good, sometimes the siblings (of successful racehorses) don't have anything, but she's powerful and she's got a good body on her," he said. "So far, she's sweet like him. It's exciting to have her out here. Everybody says 'Look, there's Pharoah's sister!' "
