JACK Thistledown Racino will lower its takeout rate on multi-race pools for the remainder of the season, starting June 25, which is $500,000 Ohio Derby day.
The new takeout rate will be 15%, down from 22.5%, on every live racing day effective for Pick 4 and Pick 5 wagers. Takeout is the money retained from each pari-mutuel pool, largely to pay racing associations, horsemen (through purses), and bettor rebates.
Thistledown offers Pick 4 wagers in the first and fifth races. It's Pick 5 begins with race four.
