Louisville-based Horsemen's Track and Equipment Inc. is accepting applications through July 31 for its second annual Steve Greene Memorial Scholarship.
Applications are open to current employees of a Thoroughbred racetrack, training center, or farm or a member of their immediate family (wife, husband or child).
Applicants must be enrolled in a four-year-undergraduate program or be enrolling for the upcoming fall semester. One recipient will be chosen to receive $2,500 towards college expenses.
The scholarship will be awarded to an individual who, in the judgment of Horsemen's Track and Equipment, best exemplifies the qualities of professionalism and personal integrity demonstrated by Greene, who was the founder and president of Horsemen's for 30-plus years. Last year's recipient was awarded to Travis Rogers of Versailles, Ky.
"The Steve Greene Memorial Scholarship is a tribute to Steve's life and love for track families," said Randy Bloch of Horsemen's Track and Equipment.
Horsemen's Track and Equipment has been designing and supplying the racing industry and farms with a full line of equipment all over the world for over 30 years.
