Total and average handle on Gulfstream Park's live races was up during the 59-day spring meet, which concluded June 30.

Total handle on Gulfstream's races was $276 million, a 12% increase over 2015 when there was $246 million wagered during the 58-day spring meet. Average daily handle during the 2016 spring meet was $4.6 million, up 9.5% from $4.2 million in 2015.

"We're pleased with the spring numbers and appreciate the support of horsemen and fans," said Gulfstream president P.J. Campo. "We're always looking to improve, however, and we believe there's still room to grow our product after the Championship Meet. We will continue working on our spring schedule—asking for input from horsemen and fans—and continue reinvigorating Florida's year-round racing schedule."
