Thoroughbred Charities of America announced June 30 that LNJ Foxwoods has established a fund to benefit the horses abandoned in Mercer County, Ky.

The “Horses First Fund” will be administered by TCA and will provide for any immediate needs of the horses, as well as provide emergency aid for horses in need in the future.

“As soon as we heard about the situation in Mercer County, we knew we wanted to help,” said Jaime Roth, who along with Larry and Nanci Roth, operate LNJ Foxwoods. “TCA is in contact with the volunteers on the farm and they continue to relay their on-farm needs to us. We hope others contribute to this fund that will assist horses in need now and in the future.”

Among the horses campaigned by New York-based LNJ Foxwoods have been grade I winner Nickname, graded stakes winner and grade I-placed Constellation, and grade III winner Dreamologist.

“The Roths’ commitment to Thoroughbred welfare is second to none,” said Erin Crady, executive director of TCA. “We are so grateful to them for the establishment of the Horses First Fund and their unwavering commitment to Thoroughbreds.”

Contributions to the Horses First Fund can be made via the online donation form on tca.org.
