Total handle July 2 on Gulfstream Park's Summit of Speed program was $9.702 million, an increase of 18% from 2015 when Gulfstream first played host to the event.

Saturday's total Summit of Speed handle represented a 108% increase from 2013, the final year the event was hosted by Calder Race Course.

"It was an exciting day of racing featuring incredible performances by some of the country's biggest stars," said Gulfstream president P.J. Campo. "We want to thank the horsemen from across North America for supporting the Summit of Speed and all the great fans who watched and wagered on today's races. We hope to continue building on the success of the Summit of Speed as well as summer racing in Florida."

Gulfstream's 13-race program was highlighted by Spelling Again's victory in the $250,000 Princess Rooney (gr. II) and Delta Bluesman's victory in the Smile Sprint (gr. II), both Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win & You're In" races.
