Saying it was hot when I arrived at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla. on Friday morning is like saying ice can be slippery. Even after relocating from San Diego to rural Georgia a little over a year ago, I have not gotten used to the extreme temperatures that are amplified by humidity, typical to the South. Call me a soft, California girl. I’m OK with that.
