Grade I winner Stormy Lucy was purchased by SF Bloodstock for $575,000 in a private transaction after leaving the ring unsold at the Fasig-Tipton July selected horses of racing age sale July 11 in Lexington. The price is the highest at the auction.
Consigned as Hip 430 by Taylor Made Sales Agency, Stormy Lucy was initially listed as not sold on a final bid of $650,000. Later, her purchase price was revised to $575,000 in a private transaction.
Taylor Made’s Leif Aaron said once the 7-year-old daughter of Stormy Atlantic owned by Ed Moger Jr. left the ring unsold, the consignor was contacted by several interests that resulted in the sale to SF Bloodstock, represented by Tom Ryan.
Stormy Lucy has won three graded stakes, including the 2015 Matriarch (gr. IT), and placed in nine graded stakes.
