HRRN to Offer Coverage in Spanish

Description:

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY and official radio home of the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup World Championships, announced today they will begin offering live coverage of major stakes races in Spanish starting with the network’s broadcast of the Grade 2 Jim Dandy at Saratoga on Saturday, July 30.

The new broadcast platform titled “HRRN en Español” will be available to listeners around the world via live streaming provided on the HRRN website,  www.horseracingradio.net as well as  www.elpotroroberto.com, the Spanish language website of industry veteran Roberto “El Potro” Rodriguez who will serve as host of the Spanish broadcasts along with analyst Eloy Vielma.

“Listeners in more than 170 countries have made HRRN their home for racing coverage over the past year which has led us to focus on expanding our broadcast platforms internationally,” said HRRN

President Mike Penna. “Offering live coverage of major stakes races in Spanish will allow us to expose our product and our sport to millions of additional racing fans around the globe. Roberto and Eloy bring a tremendous amount of racing knowledge to the table and it’s exciting to have them involved with our new HRRN en Español platform.”

“In horse racing we have the highest representation of Spanish athletes than any other sport and people in our countries haven’t been able to fully enjoy the success of their favorite jockeys and trainers because of the language barrier,” said Roberto “El Potro” Rodriguez. “Now, with this amazing idea of HRRN en Español, Spanish speaking fans and horseman around the world will be able to follow the fascinating Sports of Kings much closer in their own language.”

Much like HRRN’s English speaking coverage hosted by Penna and analyst Jude Feld throughout the year, the July 30 Jim Dandy broadcast will include the A.G. Vanderbilt (G1), Amsterdam (G2) and Bowling Green (G2) with the HRRN en Español broadcast presented by Gulfstream Park, host of the 2017 Clásico Internacional del Caribe. NYRA Spanish announcer Luis Grandison will provide the live call of each race.

HRRN also plans to offer their entire three hour Travers Stakes broadcast in Spanish on HRRN en Español on Saturday, August 27.

Additional information and broadcast times can be found on the  HRRN en Español page of the HRRN website.
