Hoppertunity, after San Antonio win

Grade I winner Hoppertunity will miss the Cougar II Handicap (gr. III) at Del Mar July 24 after spiking a fever July 21.

Trainer Bob Baffert said Karl Watson, Mike Pegram, and Paul Weitman's 5-year-old son of Any Given Saturday, who has earned more than $2.9 million, spiked the fever Thursday afternoon but was fine Friday morning.

“Virus going around barn,” Baffert said in a text message.

Hoppertunity, who has finished no worse than fourth in 19 of 20 starts, counts the Clark Handicap (gr. I), San Pasqual (gr. II), and San Antonio among his five victories.
