An excessive heat warning from the National Weather Service led Parx Racing to cancel its July 25 live racing program.

Temperatures in the greater Philadelphia, Pa., area are expected to hit the upper 90s with a heat index of about 105 degrees. Track officials said live racing is scheduled to resume July 26; Tuesday's high temperature for the area is forecast at 96 degrees.

A similar warning is in effect for the Wilmington, Del., area, but as of 11 a.m. EDT Delaware Park intended to go ahead with its Monday racing program.
