Jump Sucker Stable and Oak Bluff Stables' Governor Malibu, fourth in the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets (gr. I) in his last start, is under strong consideration for the July 30 Jim Dandy Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga Race Course.

Trainer Christophe Clement had told New York Racing Association media officials the 3-year-old New York-bred colt by Malibu Moon   was on the fence between the Jim Dandy and July 29 Curlin Stakes, but a July 24 workout signaled the former. Governor Malibu breezed five furlongs in 1:01.55 under Joel Rosario on the fast Oklahoma Training Track.

"He had a nice work," Clement said. "(He was) a little bit erratic because he had to go around some horses at the quarter-pole, but nevertheless I thought it was a nice work. I would say that the Jim Dandy is very much under consideration now."

Before the Belmont, Governor Malibu finished second, three-quarters of a length behind Unified, in the 1 1/8-mile Peter Pan Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont Park. The Jim Dandy, also at 1 1/8 miles, is expected to attract Belmont Stakes winner Creator as well as Mohaymen, the four-time grade II winner who finished fourth in his last start in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).
