Caren and 'Ghost' Seek More Stakes Success

Caren, owned by Robert Marzilli, will try to add another stakes victory to her tally of six when she contests the Wonder Where Stakes on turf at  Woodbine Aug. 7. 

All of her stakes wins have been at the Toronto track, including the Bison City Stakes July 10 last time out. The filly trained by Michael De Paulo also has a second-place finish in the Selene Stakes (Can-III) at Woodbine in May.

Caren will have to contend with multiple graded stakes winner Gamble's Ghost, trained by Josie Carroll. The Ghostzapper   filly is owned by breeder Ivan Dalos and is attempting to move forward from a seventh-place finish in the Queen's Plate July 3.

Neshama and Trini Brewnette also come into the Wonder Where with stakes success.

Neshama, owned by Carnegie Hill Stable and Kingfield Racing Stable, won the Woodbine Oaks in June. The filly trained by Catherine Day Phillips finished third in her last start, the Bison City won by Caren.

Derek Chin's Trini Brewnette won last year's South Ocean Stakes at Woodbine in November, and completes the trio of returning Bison City starters. She was sent out from the barn of Daniel Vella to finish second in that effort.

The field is rounded out by allowance winner Conquest Dynasty and maiden winners Wonderland, Leroy's Princess, Luckbe Tanya, Sonic Cyster, Meadow Rose, Swoop and Strike, Miss Metropolitan, and Zermatta.
