Big Blue Kitten is a multiple grade I-winning homebred for Ken and Sarah Ramsey

Ken and Sarah Ramsey's 2015 champion turf male Big Blue Kitten has developed a foot abscess and will miss the Aug. 13 Arlington Million (gr. IT), a race in which he ran second last year.

"As of this morning, it looks doubtful that he'll be able to make the trip to Arlington," trainer Chad Brown reported Aug. 7 at Saratoga Race Course. "It looks like something he'll be able to get over in time and be OK, but the timing's terrible."

Wake Forest, however, is on track to contest the Million for Brown. The Man o' War Stakes (gr. IT) winner ran third last out in the July 3 United Nations (gr. IT) at Monmouth Park. He tuned up for the Million Sunday with a five-furlong breeze in 1:01.19 over the Oklahoma turf training track.

Brown also has grade II winner Sea Calisi pointing for the Beverly D. (gr. IT) on the Arlington Million undercard. She breezed five furlongs in company with comebacking turf star Lady Eli in 1:00 1/5 Sunday morning on the Oklahoma lawn as well.
