A Pioneerof the Nile colt who was one of the last horses through the ring was sold for $950,000 to become the top-priced offering at the Aug. 8 first session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga selected yearling sale.
He was bought by a partnership consisting of Stonestreet and Coolmore, two of the world’s leading owners and breeders.
Named Ocean Pioneer, the colt was produced from the winning Stormy Atlantic mare Ocean Goddess, the dam of grade III winner Ocean Knight. He was bred in Kentucky by Thor-Bred Stables.
