Owner Martin Schwartz aims to extend his hot streak with two-turn, turf females with French-bred Sea Calisi, who he's entered in the $700,000 Beverly D. Stakes (gr. IT) Aug. 13 at Arlington International Racecourse.

The 4-year-old daughter of Youmzain—Triclaria, by Surumu, is the 7-5 morning line favorite in a full field of 14 entered in the 1 3/16-mile Breeders' Cup "Win and You’re In Challenge" race for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT).

Schwartz bought Sea Calisi from Mulungu Bloodstock in June 2015 and immediately won the group II Prix de Malleret at Saint Cloud and placed in both the Darley Yorkshire Oaks (Eng-I) and the Qatar Prix Vermeille (Fr-I). Following an off-the board finish in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes (Eng-I), Sea Calisi was sent overseas to U.S. trainer Chad Brown.

Prior to Schwartz and Brown teaming up, the owner had taken back-to-back runnings of the Beverly D. in 2005 with Angara and 2006 with Gorella. Both were trained by Patrick Biancone. Schwartz did not lose any momentum with Brown, and they won the Beverly D. in 2011 with Stacelita.

Sea Calisi comes into the Beverly D. off a victory in the grade II Sheepshead Bay Stakes May 7—her U.S. debut— and a close second in the New York Stakes (gr. IIT) to multiple grade/group I winner Dacita. She will be ridden for the first time by Florent Geroux.

Top European trainer Aidan O'Brien has entered a couple of 3-year-olds to prevent another celebration for Schwartz. They are group I winner Ballydoyle and grade I-placed Coolmore, who are both owned by Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith.

Ballydoyle, by Galileo—Butterfly Cove, by Storm Cat, won the group I Total Prix Marcel Boussac-Criterium des Pouliches last October and finished second in the QIPCO One Thousand Guineas (Eng-I) in May to Minding. Coolmore has struggled to hit the board overseas this year but finished third in the Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes (gr. IT) July 9 to Canadian Horse of the Year Catch a Glimpse and Time and Motion. In the same race, Ballydoyle finished last as the favorite.

O'Brien's four International Racing Festival contenders arrived at the quarantine barn Aug. 9. Ballydoyle and Coolmore were joined by Arlington Million (gr. IT) entrant Deauville and Long Island Sound, who will start in the Secretariat Stakes (gr. IT). These four are expected to be out on the main track Aug. 11.

Colm O’Donoghue takes the mount on Coolmore, starting from gate six, while Seamie Heffernan will guide Ballydoyle from the rail.

Graham Motion brings Flaxman Holdings' Faufiler to the Beverly D. Another daughter of Galileo out of 2003 Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) winner Six Perfections, Faufiler has won two stakes so far this year, including the grade III Modesty Handicap at Arlington July 9. The 5-year-old's only off-the-board performance this year has been a fifth-place finish in the Longines Just a Game Stakes (gr. IT). She will be ridden Jose Valdivia Jr., who was in the irons for the Modesty win.
