The New York Racing Association will cap paid attendance for Travers Stakes (gr. I) day at 50,000, and the organization also said Aug. 17 that all reserved seats, dining, and hospitality are sold out for the Aug. 27 program at Saratoga Race Course.
Attendance was capped at 50,000 last year as well.
General admission grandstand tickets are currently available for purchase for $10, as well as an "extremely limited inventory" of general admission clubhouse tickets for $20, NYRA said. Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com, in person at the NYRA box office at Saratoga, or by phone at 1-844-NYRA-TIX.
There is a purchase limit of eight general admission tickets per person. Clubhouse upgrades will not be available on Travers day.
"Travers is a blockbuster day and one of the must-see events of the Saratoga season," NYRA president and chief executive officer Chris Kay said. "Over the past several years, we've witnessed growing demand among fans who want to experience this tremendous day of racing. The fan response to last year's Travers was overwhelmingly positive and, as a result, we will continue to cap attendance for the comfort and convenience of our guests."
