First Winner for Kentucky-Based Bold Warrior

Florida-bred gelding Itsbeenonmymind scored a front-running win Aug. 20 in the 12th race at Gulfstream Park to become the first winner for his Kentucky-based sire, Bold Warrior.

A stakes-placed son of Bernardini  , Bold Warrior stood the 2016 season for $2,500 at Hal Snowden Jr.'s Roseglade Farm near Wilmore, Ky. There are 18 2-year-olds in his first crop.

Out of champion and Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) winner Hollywood Wildcat (by Kris S.), Bold Warrior is a half brother to four stakes winners, including Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) winner and successful sire War Chant.  

Itsbeenonmymind is a homebred for Snowden. On Saturday Itsbeenonmymind opened a 6 1/2-length lead in the stretch of the six-furlong maiden claiming race and continued on for a one-length victory under Juan Leyva. Stephen DiMauro is the winning trainer.
