Champion turf female Tepin could not be doing better as she prepares for a start in the Ricoh Woodbine Mile (Can-IT) Sept. 17 at Woodbine.

She displayed that championship form in a breeze Sept. 5, earning the bullet for five furlongs on the turf at Saratoga Race Course. The 5-year-old daughter of Bernstein completed the move in :59.88 on the firm going, fastest of 25 moves at the distance.

Tepin will put her seven-race win streak on the line at Woodbine and assistant trainer Norm Casse said she appears to be in top shape.

"She's doing really well," Casse said, adding that plans call for her to breeze an easy half-mile Sept. 11 in advance of the Woodbine mile.

Trainer Mark Casse gave Tepin a break after her victory against males in the Queen Anne Stakes (Eng-I) June 14 at the Royal Ascot meeting. A victory at Woodbine would give Tepin three grade I/group I wins against males in three different countries since Oct. 31, 2015 when she won the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) at Keeneland.

"We're excited about the possibility of showcasing her there," Norm Casse said of the Woodbine Mile, where Tepin is expected to face Arlington Million (gr. IT) winner Mondialiste, runner-up to her in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
