September may not have an abundance of marquee races, but many people involved in the horse racing and breeding industries look forward to it every year. The reason? The Keeneland September yearling sale.
Keeneland Association not only puts on a pair of fantastic race meets each April and October, it also hosts three major Thoroughbred sales (auctions) yearly. Each sale is marked on the calendar of many owners, trainers and bloodstock agents. The September sale features yearling, or 1-year-old, Thoroughbreds (this year’s yearlings were born in the first half of 2015).
