BloodHorse to Co-Host Owner Conference

BloodHorse has signed on to join OwnerView as the co-host of the third Thoroughbred Owner Conference, it was announced Sept. 7 by The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. The presenting sponsors are Breeders’ Cup, Keeneland, and The Stronach Group.

“Being involved with an event such as the Thoroughbred Owner Conference further enhances our commitment to serving Thoroughbred owners,” said John Keitt Jr., CEO and publisher of BloodHorse. “This provides us an opportunity to expose current, new and prospective owners to our publication, from the printed magazine to our digital platforms.”

As a co-host, BloodHorse will promote the conference on its website, daily app, and weekly magazine, and OwnerView (at ownerview.comwill provide links to top BloodHorse stories, sire lists, and the BloodHorse Daily.

The conference is scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2016, the same week as the Breeders’ Cup World Championships. NBC Sports horse racing and hockey analyst Eddie Olczyk will deliver the keynote address.

The panels include business considerations for racehorse ownership; Breeders’ Cup winning owners, jockeys, and trainers; and having retirement plans for your horses. In addition, television journalist Nick Clooney will serve as the moderator for a panel titled, “Racehorses in Hollywood,” which will feature producers, directors and actors of movies with horse racing themes.

The social events for the owner conference at Santa Anita include:

  • The Breeders’ Cup Post-Position Draw & Reception on Monday, Oct. 31
  • Breeders’ Cup Breakfast Marquee near Clockers Corner on Nov. 1
  • Conference Dinner & Reception on Nov. 1
  • Lunch on Nov. 1 & 2
  • A reception featuring racing syndicates from across the U.S. on Nov. 2
  • Tour opportunities at the Rose Bowl stadium and Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden on Nov. 3 along with an afternoon of lunch and live racing
  • Reserved seating for both days of championship racing, Nov. 4 & 5

Registrations are being taken for the full conference at $750/person. For spouses and partners who are interested in attending just the social events, a registration for social events is available at $400/person. On behalf of Breeders’ Cup, both types of registrations include reserved seating for both days of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
