Watchyourownbobber to Try the More Than Ready

Watchyourownbobber will try for a third consecutive stakes win at a third different track when he faces an expected seven rivals in the $400,000 More Than Ready Mile Stakes Sept. 10 at Kentucky Downs.

Another successful claim for Ken and Sarah Ramsey, Watchyourownbobber won the West Virginia House of Delegates Speaker's Cup Stakes in August at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort and in July posted a clear win in the Warrior Veterans Stakes at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino. 

Since being claimed by trainer Mike Maker for the Ramseys from a 2014 maiden race for $50,000, Watchyourownbobber has won three stakes and placed in a grade III test. The 4-year-old Hard Spun   colt has earned a total of $297,865.

To nail down his fourth stakes win, Watchyourownbobber will have to knock off 2014 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (gr. IT) winner Hootenanny, who enters off a confidence-building score in a Sept. 3 allowance race at Belterra Park. That race snapped a 4-race skid for the 4-year-old son of Quality Road   and trainer Wesley Ward will try the quick-turnaround approach Saturday.

While Hootenanny and Watchyourownbobber will be making their first Kentucky Downs starts, multiple grade II winner Dimension returns to the site of his 2015 Kentucky Downs Turf Dash Stakes win in his lone previous try on the unique course.
