Cash Is King's Longines Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Cathryn Sophia continued preparations for Parx Racing's $1 million Cotillion (gr. I) Sept. 14 with a half-mile breeze over the Bensalem, Pa. oval.
The Maryland-bred daughter of Street Boss worked in :48.01 under regular exercise rider Yeris Ortega, the second-fastest drill at the distance on the day.
"She went super. It was a very good work for her," said trainer John Servis.
Cathryn Sophia won the Sept. 3 Princess of Sylmar Stakes at Parx in runaway fashion last time out, her first start since falling to Three Chimneys' Carina Mia in the June 10 Acorn (gr. I) at Belmont Park. Her 3-year-old campaign began with a pair of grade II wins at Gulfstream Park before the first defeat of her career came with a third in the Central Bank Ashland (gr. I) at Keeneland.

The Sept. 24 Cotillion could be the most challenging test of Cathryn Sophia's career, as she is expected to face off against undefeated Champion Songbird, who will put a spotless 10-for-10 record on the line when she ships from her Southern California base to run in the Cotillion. Carina Mia is also scheduled to run.
"I think she'll be fine," Servis said. "The race is a grade I and it's worth a million dollars, so we know how tough it's going to be."
