Book 3 of the Keeneland September yearling sale got off to a strong start early Sept. 18 when a daughter of Mineshaft was sold by Lane's End for $410,000.
The filly listed as sold to Martin Anthony was bought on behalf of Hronis Racing.
"I just thought she was a big, strong filly regardless of the day she sold on," said Hronis Racing's trainer John Sadler of the purchase, in reference to a future racing prospect bringing that kind of price on the sixth day of the auction that runs through Sept. 25.
Bred in Kentucky by Three Chimneys Farm, the filly is out of the Empire Maker mare Scenic Drive, a full sister to stakes winner Supreme and is from the female family of Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner Monarchos .
"She stacks up as well as any (other filly in the sale)", said agent David Ingordo, who assisted with the purchase.
