Noholdingback Bear

Noholdingback Bear might not be as effective on dirt as he has been on synthetics, but still has the recent form to loom the largest threat to take the $300,000 Gallant Bob Stakes (gr. III) for 3-year-olds at six furlongs Sept. 24 at Parx Racing.

The Put It Back colt owns victories this year in the Woodstock Stakes at Woodbine and Tim Ridge Stakes at Presque Isle Downs over synthetic surfaces, then ran second in the Bold Venture Stakes (gr. III) at Woodbine before checking in third on the Saratoga Race Course dirt behind Drefong in the King’s Bishop (gr. I) in a solid effort. He has never been worse than second in five starts at six furlongs and has the speed to be forwardly placed.

Threefiveindia is in his third barn in the past year, but seems to have found the right one as Chad Brown sent him out to an impressive allowance optional claiming victory at Saratoga last month. The stalker faces stakes company for the first time since running up the track in the Breeders’ Futurity (gr. I) last year and is clearly on the improve.

Mind Your Biscuits won the Amsterdam Stakes (gr. II) at Saratoga two back and ran evenly for fifth in the King’s Bishop. The closer would benefit from a hot early pace. Navy Hymn has been claimed three times this year and will try to carry his California speed from gate to wire here. He must prove he’s equal to the class rise.

Klingon Warrior has won both his career starts at Parx but also gets tested in deeper water here. He will be another contributor to the early tempo. Cocked and Loaded won the Iroquois Stakes (gr. III) last year but hasn’t been able to duplicate that effort. He was plucked out of a $40,000 claimer two back but faltered badly last out in the Smarty Jones (gr. III).Counterforce is a stakes winner but hasn’t made an impression lately and was well-beaten by Mind Your Biscuits in the Amsterdam. He, too, hopes for fast early fractions.

Awesome Speed hasn’t raced since weakening in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I). He has two stakes wins to his credit but needs to fire off the bench. Full Salute also has won two added-money events but was outfinished by entrymate Yellow Chips in the Jersey Shore Stakes (gr. III).Who's Outis another California invader who will make one run while Cardio Cowboy hasn’t displayed the moxie for this spot.
