Jockey Rosendo Secures 1,000th Career Win

In his 20th season of riding, Rosendo boasts 60 black-type stakes wins with about half in the United States and half in Venezquela. In the U.S., Rosendo registered his biggest win to date in the 2008 Florida Oaks (gr. III) at Tampa Bay Downs when he guided Awesome Chic to victory.
Most of Rosendo's U.S. stakes wins have come in New Mexico, Ohio, and Indiana. In 2013 and 2014 he guided Needmore Flattery to five stakes wins at three Ohio tracks.
According to Equibase statistics, Rosendo has a record of 1,000 wins, 991 seconds, and 1,032 thirds from 7,636 starts. His mounts have earned purses of nearly $16.4 million.
