Senor Guitar First Winner for Star Guitar

Louisiana-bred standout Star Guitar  , a winner of 22 stakes in the Pelican State, saw his first winner as a stallion Sept. 24 when Clifford Grum's homebred Senor Guitar rallied from fifth to score a clear win in a maiden-claiming race for 2-year-olds at Churchill Downs .

Freshman sire Star Guitar stood the 2016 season for $4,000 at Clear Creek Stud near Folsom, La. Senor Guitar is one of two starters, along with placed Stars R Out, from the 41 foals in the first crop of racing age for the three-time Louisiana-bred Horse of the Year.

Louisiana-bred Senor Guitar is one of three winners out of Grand Slam mare Kiawah's Magic. He completed Saturday's six-furlong test, the fifth race on the Churchill card, in 1:11.90 under Ricardo Santana Jr. Senor Guitar is trained by Helen Pitts.
