Juvenile first-time starter Will Call drew off in the stretch of his maiden special weight debut Sept. 28 at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino to become the first winner for freshman sire Country Day  

A three-time stakes winner and grade II-placed son of Speightstown  , Country Day stood the 2016 season for $3,500 at Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm near Lexington. A 10-year-old out of grade III winner Hidden Assets, by Mt. Livermore, Country Day boasts four starters and 25 foals in his first crop. 

Hidden Assets also has produced grade III winner Cash Control and stakes winners Good Deed, Due Date, and Cash Back

Richard and Bertram Klein's homebred Will Call secured a 13 1/4-length victory as the 3-5 favorite in his debut for trainer Brad Cox. He finished the six-furlong race in 1:10.67 under rider Shaun Bridgmohan. Kentucky-bred Will Call is out of stakes-winning More Than Ready   mare Vote Early, who was also bred and raced by the Kleins. Vote Early's first four foals have all been winners. She has yearling colt by Majestic Warrior, named Call Me, and delivered a full sister to Will Call this year.
