California Horse Racing Board commissioner Chuck Winner issued a stay order Sept. 29 to allow Steve Miyadi to resume training after the conditioner was suspended by the regulatory agency Sept. 25.
The suspension stemmed from an altercation Sept. 23 with jockey Alex Solis, who is also a commissioner on the CHRB, during which Miyadi shoved the rider.

A condition of the stay order is that Miyadi must stay at least 25 feet away from any member of the CHRB.
A statement from the CHRB stated Miyadi can "resume training pending the outcome of the legal process involving an altercation between Miyadi and commissioner Alex Solis."
“I’m thankful to chairman Winner for intervening and allowing me to continue to care for my horses and work with my staff, and owners.” Miyadi said through a statement from his lawyer, Darrell Vienna. “We're all looking forward to great racing this month at Santa Anita.”
A hearing regarding the incident is scheduled for Oct. 11.
“The stay is consistent with established principles of due process and fairness, and we are grateful to chairman Winner for his intercession in this matter,” Vienna added in the statement.
