Former Florida sire Hunters Bay will be introduced to Ontario breeders during an Adena Springs North open house being held Oct. 8 from noon to 3 p.m. EDT.
The 9-year-old son of Ghostzapper is a grade I-placed, multiple grade III winner of more than $600,000 whose first crop are yearlings of 2016. His runner-up effort in the Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes (Can-IT) to two-time U.S. Horse of the Year Wise Dan helped secure his own championship honors as Canada's 2012 champion older horse.
Hunters Bay will join Giant Gizmo , Milwaukee Brew , North Light , Rookie Sensation , Silent Name , Silver Max , Singing Saint , Sligo Bay , and Wilko on the Aurora farm's roster.
Reservations are required to attend the open house, which will include a drawing for three no-guarantee seasons to Giant Gizmo, Milwaukee Brew, and Silver Max. Anyone interested in attending should contact the farm at (905) 841-0336 to make a reservation or go to the Adena Springs North website.
Giant Gizmo is currently the leading Canadian sire by number of black-type stakes and graded stakes winners. Veteran Milwaukee Brew is Ontario's leading sire of lifetime stakes winners, while record-setting grade I winner Silver Max, the last horse to defeat Wise Dan, will enter his second season in 2017.
Adena Springs North stallions have collectively sired over a third of all black-type winners by Canadian stallions in 2016 and two-thirds of all graded stakes winners, according to the farm.
