Fioretti Seeks TCA Comeback

Fioretti winning the 2015 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes
Two Hearts Farm and Don Janes' Fioretti will attempt to join Excitable Lady (1982-83) as the only repeat winners of the Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes (gr. II) when she faces seven opponents Oct. 8 in the 36th running of the $250,000 main-track sprint going six furlongs at Keeneland.
The TCA, a "Win and You're In" challenge race for the Nov. 5 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park, will go as the sixth race on Saturday's 10-race program with a 4 p.m. ET post time.
Trained by Anthony Hamilton Jr., Fioretti won the Open Mind at Churchill Downs Sept. 17 for her first victory since last fall's TCA. Sophie Doyle has the mount Saturday from post position six.
In addition to Fioretti, the TCA drew five other graded stakes winners.
Grade II winners in the field include Sarah Sis, winner of last fall's Lexus Raven Run at Keeneland winner of the Sept. 19 Presque Isle Downs Masters Stakes (gr. II) last time out, plus Spelling Again and Stonetastic. The group is completed by grade III winners I'm a Looker and Irish Jasper, along with Meshell and Bendable.
