Keep Quiet Joins Casse's BC Contingent

Gary Barber's Keep Quiet emerged from his Oct. 9 victory in Keeneland's Dixiana Bourbon (gr. IIT) in good shape, according to Norman Casse, assistant to his father, trainer Mark Casse.

"He is good this morning," Casse said of 2-year0old Keep Quiet, who returned Sunday night to Churchill Downs, where Casse has another string of horses.

Keep Quiet is the fourth Casse runner to earn a fees-paid berth to the Breeders' Cup World Championships by virtue of capturing "Win and You're In" challenge races. 

With his victory, Keep Quiet earned an automatic berth in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (gr. IT) on Nov. 4 at Santa Anita Park. On Saturday, John Oxley's Classic Empire won the Claiborne Breeders' Futurity (gr. I) to earn a spot in the $2 million Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) Nov. 5.

Previously earning Breeders' Cup spots for the Casse stable were Robert Masterson's Tepin for the $2 million Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) with a victory in the Ricoh Woodbine Mile (Can-IT) Sept. 17 and Live Oak Plantation's Victory to Victory for the $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (gr. IT) with a triumph in the Natalma (Can-IT) at Woodbine Sept. 18.

The Casse barn could have another name to add when Breeders' Cup pre-entries close Oct. 24.

"We've got La Coronel running in the (JPMorgan Chase) Jessamine (gr. IIIT) on Wednesday," Norman Casse said of filly entered in the 1 1/16-mile race on the grass, a "Win and You're In" for the Juvenile Fillies Turf. "We are really high on her."

Owned by Oxley, La Coronel broke her maiden in her grass debut, winning by four lengths at Saratoga on Sept. 5.
