Keeneland Race Course enjoyed a rather stellar opening weekend.
The Lexington, Ky., track attracted a record combined crowd of 66,437 for its first three days of racing, which also included a sensational day for some astute handicappers.
The Pick 5 on Oct. 8 featured two winning favorites in a series of five graded stakes, but with odds-on favorite Tepin falling to a 29-1 shot, the sequence returned a ritzy $43,107.45 to holders of 50-cent tickets.
