The 2014 Horse of the Year has registered an undefeated campaign this year that included wins in the Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (UAE-I) and the TVG Pacific Classic (gr. I). Perfect in six starts this year, the 5-year-old son of Lucky Pulpit enjoys a four-point ratings lead over his closest rivals.
United States-based horses are well represented in the rankings through Oct. 9 with record-setting Travers Stakes (gr. I) winner Arrogate (129) tied for the second spot with A Shin Hikari. Mohegan Sun Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) and Whitney Stakes (gr. I) winner Frosted ranks sixth with a 126 rating.
With Arrogate and California Chrome both pointing to the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), that race will feature the world's top-ranked horse against the horse tied for second in the rankings.
