Catch a Glimpse May Not be Done for Season

Citing that her last effort  was "too bad to be her," trainer Mark Casse said Oct. 19 that Canadian champion Catch a Glimpse could still make one more start before year's end and that a Breeders' Cup venture has not been completely ruled out.

Catch a Glimpse came in seventh as the favorite in the Oct. 15 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Presented by Lane's End (gr. IT) at Keeneland, the only time the 2015 Canadian Horse of the Year has finished worse than second in 11 starts. The daughter of City Zip   faded after setting fractions of :22.99 and :47.46, but Casse said she looked too good and trained too forwardly to not be given a pass for that outing.

"After the race, she was jumping around, bouncing around and ... future plans for this year are still up in the air," Casse said. "She does have that "Win and You're In" (Breeders' Cup Challenge berth to the grade I Filly & Mare Turf from winning the Belmont Oaks). We're still trying to figure it out. 

"The only thing we can come up with is she didn't handle the track. She's never trained better; she's never looked better. And her race the other day was so bad that it can't be her. There is a chance that was her last start of the year, but it's not for sure."
