Tapit Colt Late Withdrawal from F-T Sale

Description:

A Tapit   colt from an active female family was a late withdrawal from the Oct. 24 first session of the Fasig-Tipton October yearling sale and will be pointed toward a juvenile sale next spring.

Consigned as Hip 334 by Gainesway, the colt’s unraced dam, the Carson City mare Pretty City, has already produced grade I winners Lear's Princess and Pretty City Dancer, a filly also sired by Tapit who was pointed toward the 14 Hands Winery Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) before being derailed by a minor ankle injury in training Sept. 23.

With the momentum within his female family the colt will be attractive to 2-year-old sale buyers, said Michael Hernon, Gainesway’s sales director.

Hernon said a decision on who will handle the sale of the colt as a 2-year-old will be determined later.

The colt bred in Kentucky by Gainesway is from the female family of grade I winner My Big Boy and was one of three yearlings in the F-T sale sired by North America's leading sire.
