As Belinda Stronach takes the reins of The Stronach Group from her father Frank Stronach, she said the company will emphasize the entertainment value in horse racing.

In a story introducing the new chairwoman of The Stronach Group, written by Stronach Group executive Dennis Mills at RacingFuture.com, Belinda Stronach said the track owner will continue to put emphasis on entertainment.

"We view this company as an entertainment company first and foremost, with horse racing and wagering as our key assets," said Belinda Stronach in the story titled The Reins of Transition of the Breeder's Dream. "Our passion is to expand the sport of horse racing and to deliver amazing entertainment experiences, both on and off track. We think Pegasus World Cup Invitational is a game-changing catalyst in our efforts to modernize this sport and to engage a whole new generation of fans."

Tracks owned the The Stronach Group include Santa Anita Park, site of the Breeders' Cup World Championships Nov. 4 and 5; Gulfstream Park, and the Maryland Jockey Club tracks Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course—home of the Preakness Stakes (gr. I).

The first Pegasus World Cup Invitational day is set for Jan. 28 at Gulfstream. The marquee race of the day is the world's richest race, a $12 million test run under the same conditions as and replacing the Donn Handicap (gr. I).

The story notes that Belinda's brother Andy Stronach will research new and unique gaming opportunities to bring young people into horse racing.
