Breeders' Cup Announces Social Media Plans

Today, the Breeders' Cup announced its digital and social media activation plan that will surround the 33rd annual Breeders' Cup World Championships, taking place on November 4 and 5 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif. The activations will appear across multiple social and digital platforms beginning on Monday, October 31 and will include live streaming, stories, exclusive behind-the-scenes content and more. This year's activations include:

Breakfast at the Breeders' Cup: This multi-day event for Breeders' Cup participants, owners, and executives will be streamed live on the Breeders' Cup Facebook Page and on the official Breeders' Cup Website. Content will feature footage of morning workouts with commentary by notable horse racing figures Mike Penna, Jude Feld, Jeff Bloom, and Kurt Becker. Breakfast at the Breeders' Cup will take place on Monday, October 31st - Thursday, November 3 from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM.

Mini Winner's Circle Activation: This is the first interactive set up onsite designed specifically for social media at the Breeders' Cup. The mini winner's circle, sponsored by Westfield Mall, will be outfitted with miniature versions of real winner's circle elements, including a trophy, garland, saddle towel and even a miniature horse. Fans can catch a glimpse of what it's like to be a Breeders' Cup winner. 

Inaugural Facebook Live Stream of Select Breeders' Cup Races: This year, fans will be able to tune in to select Breeders' Cup races live on the  Breeders' Cup Facebook Page. The complete schedule of races will be broadcast on NBC and on the Breeders' Cup official website, www.breederscup.com.

Behind the Scenes Periscope Video and Interviews: Viewers can tune in to live interviews hosted by Breeders' Cup kid reporter, Maddie Stevens. Interviews can be watched directly on Periscope or through the Twitter App. Fans can expect to behind the scenes barn footage as well as Breeders' Cup participants, trainers, and celebrities. 

America's Best Racing Paddock Correspondents: Fans can watch behind the scenes interviews with connections from the paddock before select Breeders' Cup race on the America's Best Racing Facebook page.

Live Snapchat Story: On Saturday, November 5th, Snapchat will produce an exclusive Live story from the Breeders' Cup. Fans will be able to submit their moments to the Breeders' Cup Story on Snapchat for a chance to be featured. Join Snapchat and follow @breederscup on Snapchat to participate. 

Tagboard (NBC/Players' Show/Videoboards): Through a partnership with search and display platform, Tagboard, Breeders' Cup will feature live social media content on the  jumbotron at Santa Anita Park and screens in suites and VIP areas. Fan-generated social content will be integrated into the simulcast feed viewable worldwide. Fans can post pictures or videos and use the hashtag #BC16 for a chance to be featured on the big screens. 

Las Vegas Selfie Station: Fans can share their race day experience with the most classic look in the book: A Selfie. The Las Vegas Style Lounge, located in Luxury Row will feature Stitched, Color Salon and a Selfie station.
